contentment

A man walking on the road

With trembling legs

And a stick in hand

Was happy with children

Who were off to school now

There was none to talk

He felt suffocation

Moved to garden

Friends met to chitchat

They were back to home too

The thought

None cares for the old

Had to console the soul

Some moments of peace

Though dim

Might be a sort of joy to him

Gave contentment

That he was not so old .

  1. Usually old people feel lonely and neglected in their sunset years. If the youngsters only could give them a little bit of care, love and time it will boost their happiness and confidence immensely. Beautiful poem.
